Re: Confess, Fletch

Finally watched this yesterday. Hamm definitely isn’t Chase, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. This really felt like it was very closely based on a book, whereas the Chase Fletch felt like a lot of ad lib and/or things done for a movie. I did quite enjoy this and would love to see the series continued with Hamm. It was a great heist/murder/whodunit story, and there were definitely some great lines in this and some laughs. I mean, no one is going to go around quoting lines from it like they do the original Fletch - well, I do anyway - but it wasn’t devoid of smartassery. Just more down-to-earth, realistic versions of it. Even so, I would love to see a little more emotion from Hamm here. I get that he wants to contrast earlier versions of the character, but feels like he over-corrected a bit here. This is nit picking. It’s a fine film that was underappreciated.
