Briefly: Axel Foley is officially back. Paramount has set a March 25, 2016 release date for a new Beverly Hills Cop film, directed by Brett Ratner and starring Eddie Murphy. Little is known about the film except Jerry Bruckheimer is producing and Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) wrote the latest version of the script.
guess he ran out of shrek.

I'll be honest, I kind of figured you for this gig.

only took 10 years...

After his daughter’s life is threatened, she (Taylour Paige) and Foley team up with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old pals Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy.

the verdict is - yes, it meets the "better than Coming 2 America" bar, in that i finished this one, but it's only slightly better. it's really not good. it's not funny, just a whole lot of 'member berries that don't work whatsoever for me. it certainly isn't good as a stand-alone film. anyone that gives this a pass is doing so based on the strength of the first two films (yes, there is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it joke about part 3 being terrible in here, so it tries to be self-aware). it's real bad, and very visually obvious that no one should be involved physically in the things they're doing, outside of JGL who is, as you might imagine, actually good in this, for as little as he had to do. skip this nonsense.
