Re: Slayer - the shitty news thread
21i like paul's work quite a bit really, but fuck all of this. you can't a) answer dave's questions, or b) take some time away to honor jeff? all i can do is shake my head.
Oh, I have nothing bad to say about Paul either, and in fact he was probably the standout in Slayer circa 1996-2001. Obviously the best option with Jeff's passing would've been to dissolve the band — it's ridiculous to plod along without the main songwriter. But given that KK wasn't about to cancel tour dates and miss out on all that revenue, the least he could've done is treat the fans to what remains of the original band. Carrying on with only 1/2 of Slayer is pretty insulting to anyone who's ever cared about the band.TC wrote:i like paul's work quite a bit really, but fuck all of this. you can't a) answer dave's questions, or b) take some time away to honor jeff? all i can do is shake my head.
It'd still have been 3/4 of the original band, which has been good enough for Voivod.Yea but even if they got Dave, without Jeff, it really doesn't matter anyway.
I was really excited at first when the lineup was announced for the tour, but they're almost all cover bands at this point, and I opted not to go in the end. Sounds like I didn't miss too much.Alexhead wrote:Apparently they may not be playing Denver again any time soon: http://blogs.westword.com/backbeat/2014 ... _photo.php
