A terrible, terrible tragedy. Us swedes mourn the loss of goalie Stefan Liv, 30. One of the finest keepers sweden has produced over the last 15 years. A father of two as well. Other players dead include Pavol Demitra, Josef Vasicek and Jan Marek.

...and skrasstins, many many others. Demitra is heavily liked around here, despite his indifference in junes past. it is just such a tragedy. the entire team dead.
our thoughts go out to the NHL & KHL today. many friends were lost.

So awful. My wife was checking her e-mail yesterday and saw the headline. It definitely cast a shadow on my daughter's first birthday. I can't believe Demitra is dead and the whole team is wiped out.

One of the people I work with on my papers "youth desk" was close friends with one of the younger russian players. She had just started to get her life back together after some problems with her heart, and now this happens and breaks it in a whole different way.
