I definitely got Taken vibes from the first part of the film. Though
at least they had the balls to kill the girl in this.
. I definitely liked in the last half hour that we got a return to the more tactical fighting Rambo of the original film. It's no First Blood, but a worthy end to the franchise.

watched the extended version. it has 13 additional minutes - a very dramatic opening sequence, some extended dialog on the farm, and an "intro" scene to the two brothers. all of which are unnecessary and add unwanted depth to great 2-dimensional characters. do not recommend. 89 minutes, complete with inexplicable relationships and motivations, is far superior. i decided this is a comic book film, and probably the best once since Logan. viewed in that manner, theatrical cut is a great film.
