My music listening has been erratic, to say the least.

The good:
High on Fire — Luminiferous (the best from HOF in 10 years)
Graveyard — Innocence & Decadence
John Carpenter — Lost Themes (thanks for reminding me about this one)
Paradise Lost — The Plague Within
Gruesome — Savage Land
Exhumed — Gore Metal: A Necrospective 1998-2015
The Black Dahlia Murder — Abysmal

Had their moments:
Cattle Decapitation — The Anthropocene Extinction
Enslaved — In Times
Entrails — Obliteration
Melechesh — Enki

Meh:
Armored Saint — Win Hands Down
Black Star Riders — The Killer Instinct
W.A.S.P. — Golgotha

Not good:
The Crown — Death Is Not Dead
Sylosis — Dormant Heart
Faith No More — Sol Invictus

Guilty pleasure:
Whitesnake — The Purple Album

Worst of 2015:
Slayer — Repentless

Didn't hear the new Maiden or Lamb of God.
This is a snakeskin jacket. And for me it's a symbol of my individuality and my belief in personal freedom.

gruesome was fine, i listen to is and stuff, but it's more of a straight-up tribute album than anything truly interesting.

yeah, that high on fire was really good. that wasp was awful.

I should say that list is not a list of "Oh my god these albums are the greatest music since its invention!" Just albums that came out this year that I enjoy listening to.

11. No Joy—More Faithful. Not as strong as Wait to Pleasure, but still quite good
10. Ducktails—Saint Catherine. Very worthy side project from Real Estate, brings the melodies
9. Negative Scanner—Negative Scanner. The definition of scrappy post punk indie rock
8. White Reaper—White Reaper Does It Again. Super sugar rush power pop
7. B’Lieve I’m Goin’ Down—Kurt Vile. Sorry Sufjan, this is the acoustic album to beat this year
6. Deafheaven—New Bermuda. Picking up the brutal beauty of Sunbather and running with it
5. Deaf Wish—Pain. Angry shades of Sonic Youth, The Stooges, and many other things I like in rock music
4. Wand—Golem. Probably my favorite of the Nuggets-inspired garage rockers
3. Failure—The Heart Is A Monster. Roaring comeback album sounds like they never left
2. The Amazing—Picture You. I don’t understand why this isn’t on more top 10 lists. A gorgeous rock record.
1. Cheatahs—Mythologies. My favorite of the year, Cheatahs have soaring melodies, great hooks, lots of guitars, equal parts shoegaze and alternative rock, best new band going in my book.

I kind of have all the methods--I have a iPod that I use when I work out, I now have a Smart TV in the basement with a pretty good sound bar/subwoofer so I fire up albums on Youtube while I'm working, I started collecting vinyl this year so if I'm upstairs there's usually a record on, and I rip CDs off iTunes to listen to in the car. In fact we've got an old stereo on the back porch that we play tapes on in the summer, come to think of it.
