VGA to SDtv?

1
Hey guys, sorry I've been away for so long, but I just was able to replace my computer after it crapped out on me a few months ago. This leads me to my question though, the laptop doesn't have an S-video port, only a VGA outlet. Could I get away with buying one of those little $1 adapters that has a male VGA connector and female RCA connectors, and then use a double ended RCA cord to watch movies on my TV?

Something like this: http://amzn.to/hBj5dD

Actually, no, it won't work. That cable would only work if your vga port sends out a composite signal, and I've never heard of a computer or graphics card that did. What you need is an actual converter.
Just cut them up like regular chickens

Yeah, I was hoping to not have to spring for a converter, but if I have to, there's not really a whole lot I can do about it. I'll pick up the cable for cheap and cross my fingers, but I think that I'll need to pick one up.
