Yeah, I hit the sack with a 2-0 lead going into the 3rd...then pick up the paper this morning to see the new Avs don't exactly know how to maintain such a lead

Sounds like Jose really earned his 5.5 mil on that one, then

(please anticipate that comment ringing across the state of Colorado after every single loss this year ;) )

I've already gotten into betting on the games.

Tonight's wagers:

TOR @ OTT: U 6.5, 1.70
PHI @ PIT: U 6.5, 1.80
WAS @ NYR: WAS by 1, 2.50
CGY @ EDM: Tie game, 6.00

That ticket's worth $229.50 if tonight pans out. Maybe this is how I'll start paying off my debts :)

Definitely glad to have it back.

hmm.. i think if there is a tie in an nhl game and you called it, you get eleventy trillion dollars.

Includes OT, but excludes a shootout.

Ties in football include wins by less than a field goal, too. Betting cutoff is tonight, I'll have to get my wagers in...

Is "gaming" legal up there, or do you go online?

It's not only legal, it's government-run. They offer everything, too, a real wide range — they've got player matchups in baseball and basketball games, over/under, point spread and all that stuff, available at just about any convenience store.

The website blows in Firefox, but http://proline.olgc.ca/ gives you a pretty good idea of the range of stuff you can bet on here. Hell, the OLGC runs casinos, so I guess by comparison sports betting is fairly tame.

Soo... my very own Leafs are turning out to be the biggest threat to my earnings. I wanted so badly to bet big on them tonight, it was good odds too, but I was just too afraid of Ottawa at home. Now my Leafs are leading 4-0, and Chad Kilger and Darcy Tucker are sharing the NHL scoring lead thanks to this game with two goals apiece... this is absolutely fantastic for my fantasy league performance, with Tucker's two PPGs, Sundin's PPA and Raycroft turning away shots left and right, but it's making me a little nervous with my Pro-Line ticket. Alright, I guess Sundin and Tucker can each assist each other on another goal, let's say even-strength so I can get the accompanying +4. But after that, no more! I want my damn money. :P

Dammit... it'd be a $920 ticket if I'd bet the Leafs were gonna win by 2, too. Damn me for being a pansy!
