Sabbat - Dreamweaver was cool. Not a huge fan of the singer, but the riffs were good.

Megadeth - Endgame. Finally listened to this one for the first time. I like the new guitarist a lot more than the last guy. I wish Mustaine would quit reading the Left Behind books and neocon bullshit though. Songs like Endgame are going to sound really dumb in 5-10 years. Shut up about the Patriot Act and microchips and the UN. Anytime you make such specific political references in a song it permanently anchors the song to that point in time. Songs like Peace Sells... live on because they transcend that time and place. I'm glad Dave has something to be angry about again though. His music is better when he's pissed off.

i recently stumbled upon a band called Zero 7. neat little mellow kinda trip-hoppy stuff. not really as heavy on the "trip" as portishead, but more on the mellow.

Check out everything they've done with swedish singer/songwriter Jose Gonzales. Greatness.

Probably some irony involved--and, you know, it's NOT always sunny in Philadelphia, either. 8)

Noticed Dark Tranquillity on Marcus' playlist there. Been listening to them a lot recently too, I just love 'Fiction'.

Fiction is a good one, Damage One a better one.

The new album, We are the void, is also worth a listen, especially the amazing final track.

After seeing Into the Wild for the first time a couple of weeks ago, I've been listening to an unhealthy amount of Eddie Vedder. His soundtrack for the film is brilliant, especially Long Nights and Society. Great. Wish he would just quit Pearl Snooze and go do stuff on his own.

just downloaded the new Streetlight Manifesto album, and they cover a NOFX song on there. It's made me get all nostalgic and start listening to nofx again. and I swore I was done with them, go figure.
