i'm not surprised. as i said i'm only two episodes in, but given he's clearly more than twice her age, the immediate dynamic was that he was a father figure. it never occurred to me that it might go otherwise. unless you're talking about something/someone else that happens in the next three episodes, it's kind of odd that you'd even mention that. the entire point of hawkeye is that he's a family man at heart that just happens to also do world-saving stuff. he is constantly shown to be loving and caring to his wife and kids.

Ok, caught up. Show is really great. That last scene,
I wonder if it’s going to be Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin?? That would be amazing and canonize the Netflix shows (and actors).
. Anyway, great show. Sure there are some questions I’d have if i were taking this seriously, like why no one even looks sideways at people walking around New York with bows and quivers full of arrows, or how kate continues to buy things if her mom had canceled her cards, etc., but eh, doesn’t really take away from the show. Probably my favorite of them so far. That one thing that is constantly distracting is how amazingly clean, safe, and pleasant NYC looks. Come on, really? Just take a look at any photos from the last few years and see how bad it really is. It’s very dishonest. But, this is the Marvel universe, not reality, so I talk myself out of getting pissed. Just feels like propaganda.

Having spent a lot of time in New York, no one ever looks at anyone sideways for anything. People keep to themselves there and pretty much ignore anything. Actually, it's been pretty clean the last few times I've been there. Well as clean a NYC can ever look, lol. It depends a lot where in the city you are. I'm assuming Kate's mom re-instated her cards once she came home. Or gave her new ones. They're rich folk, they always find a way. Kate probably had cash stashed at home somewhere. If aliens destroyed part of my penthouse I'd keep an emergency nestegg on hand too out of paranoia.
That is indeed Vincent D’Onofrio, he was listed in the credits. I would say at this point if the show Daredevil isn't cannon, then at least the characters of Daredevil and Kingpin are.

Bah, the father/daughter thing is creepy and unbelievable. Sure, he might make a choice to be faithful to his wife, but there should be some sexual tension there at least. The New Puritanism in Hollywood is so fucking dumb.

That finale was great. The show was easily the best of them so far for me. Well, maybe Loki above it, but I loved it. Really well done.

And i don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. Nothing about this Kate in this show is sexual. This show doesn’t have that “sexpot” role, although Ylena has a bit of femme fatale to her. That just isn’t this show. Every other Marvel show so far has had that though, so again - don’t know why you are applying that stance to these shows.

I never heard of Moon Knight, but the trailer looked trippy.

The mid '80s was my main era of reading comics, but somehow I never read any Moon Knight. I don't think he did many crossovers with other comics at the time so there was nothing to really introduce me to the character. The trailer looked okay and I'll watch it. But this is the one Marvel character I don't really have any connection to so I'm not as interested as I had been in some of the other series.

giving me big Hulk (Ang Lee's film) vibes. hm.

That's a fan made trailer. I was so confused wondering why there were scenes from Orphan Black in it. I wouldn't try to get any vibes off it considering there's about seven different shows mashed together in there. :-)

Sometime last year we started rewatching all the Marvel movies with our son following the Disney+ cinematic chronological order playlist, not the order they were released. Our daughter finally decided to join us too towards the end of the run. We've made it to the first of the TV series in the playlist, which is Loki. On Friday night we watched the 2nd episode, and last night we watched the 3rd and then, well, it's not quite bedtime so let's watch another! This show is pretty wild! It's been a while since I watched something where I was this excited for the next episode. Was any of this TVA stuff in the comics? I've never heard of it before.

The TVA was introduced in the comics back in the '80s, but Marvel has never done a whole lot with them. In fact they kind of forget about them a lot of the time since it would limit stories they can tell. They tend to show up most in Fantastic Four.

Since we're on the subject of Disney+ series, I have to confess I haven't watched any of Moon Knight yet. It looks totally uninteresting to me. But I suppose I'll binge it at some point.

i'm anxious about it, but waiting for it to complete so i can binge. i don't know why these services insist on the weekly model. i mean, i do know why - revenue. show has to run beyond the trial period to get a sub. but all people will do is wait for it to complete then binge during a trial anyway. so yeah, stop it.

I actually like the anticipation of the weekly model. Makes for good water cooler talk with people at work when you're watching them at the same pace. I rarely watch more than 2 episodes of anything in one sitting anyway. Just no time for that much TV.

I used to watch most of the Marvel shows as they were released. In fact since I'm usually up over night I'd watch them at 3 a.m. when they hit. But never having read Moon Knight the comic and knowing nothing about it, I haven't really gotten all that excited over this. Nor do the trailers make me eager. Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk I'm interested in, but this one, meh. And since it doesn't seem there's anything about it I need to watch before going into the Dr. Strange movie, I have even less of an incentive.

moon knight was uneven but actually pretty cool. really don't like how/where it just ended. don't think it was remotely as successful in tackling mental illness as the amazing Legion, but it was certainly lighter and more digestible. it wasn't a monumental, amazing show, but it did succeed in bringing MK into the marvel universe, so hopefully we'll get some future representation, even if it doesn't get re-upped.

I think Moon Knight did about the same viewer wise as any of the other Marvel shows. Who knows if they'll renew it or not. So far I think Loki is the only one that's confirmed for a second series, which was the highest rated of the Marvel Disney+ shows.
I still haven't watched Moon Knight. I'll get to it eventually.

She-Hulk trailer

The cgi on her in her Hulk form looks kind of plasticky. I hope they just aren't finished doing it.

i feel the same way watching that as i did when i saw the comic come out - that seems dumb as fuck. i hope they don't make her some integral part of the MCU.
