Again, I don’t understand why, in the last few years, “gay” and “horror” communities are intersecting. 99% of gay dudes I have met or know hate horror. It’s really weird.
After watching the first six episodes, I can’t take it anymore. I kept watching, waiting for the “twist” where something was finally going to happen, but it’s not coming. This thing has all the plot of a Jackie Treehorn production. It’s just a gay porno. That’s what the whole season is, it’s gay porn - just enough plot to be called a “show”, but any real story gets in the way of the hardcore gay sex stuff.
Ryan Murphy has way too much power. The dude is drunk with it. This turn completely alienates the fanbase that gave him the ability to make big choices and take big risks. Is it a risk deciding to make a show that’s really only for the small percentage of gay people that were in your existing fan base? Maybe, just not one I’ll be continuing to watch. This, and season 8, are the only ones I bailed on, and both for the same reason. I don’t know who this show is for (the unicorn gay dude into horror, I suppose), but it’s not me.
Last season was weird (doing the split alien/vampire thing halfway through) but good, previous (1984) was great, and the anthology series (at least the first season) was also great. Shrug. Murphy is weird, as evidenced by the decisions he made on Dahmer to inject propaganda when it was completely unnecessary (the real story is plenty interesting).
