Along the same lines as wanting to see the original ending of the Shining that was on the prints for a week until Kubrick had it cut.

Yep. Interesting curiosities.

Interesting curiosities, absolutely. Never said I didn't want to see the deleted scenes, just that I suspect they'll be disappointing after all the years of fuss. Time may tell.

i question the authenticity of the casting call. but the idea that he may be filming something for the set, 25 years later? yes i buy that.

Frost says on twitter the casting call is bunk and nothing is being filmed.

This a message from David Lynch's granddaughter Syd

To those of you asking about the supposed "Twin Peaks Remake/New Additions," it's complete bullshit. The Internet is not a truth machine. Don't get your panties in a twist, Twin Peaks will not be remade by my grandfather.

and now we have this:
Fangoria wrote:EXCL: Ray Wise Confirms “TWIN PEAKS” Lynch-directed Blu-ray Promo

It’s been 25 years (story-wise) since the world followed Agent Dale Cooper and his investigations into the surreal and horrifying town of TWIN PEAKS, breaking new ground in television and amassing a huge audience and enduring cult fanbase. Now, after a casting call for a TWIN PEAKS promo, purportedly directed by series co-creator David Lynch himself, rumors began to swell that we would see, however briefly, more of the PEAKS universe for the show’s upcoming Blu-ray release. This rumor was especially titillating as it would coincide with Laura Palmer’s posthumous sentiments to Agent Cooper and give the first new PEAKS to the generations that have discovered it in the years since its cancellation.

In a recent chat with Ray Wise for the home video release of BIG ASS SPIDER!, the actor who famously played Laura’s father Leland confirmed to FANGORIA that the promo has indeed been shot with Lynch behind the camera, and that there will in fact be a Blu-ray set for the series created by Lynch and Mark Frost!

“Yeah, we [shot the promo for the Blu-ray] two days ago,” Wise tells Fango. “It’s been done. I don’t know if I was supposed to leak that to anybody, but yeah, we did it and I’m not at liberty to say what was done. I can say that it’s going to be a big surprise.”

There you have it folks! But possibly even more enticing: if Ray Wise was a part of the promo, who else might we see?

Well I'll be damned, I actually had a dream about this last night. Lynch had made a Twin Peaks follow-up film, a "25 years later" deal. I saw it and was soooo disappointed! He barely used any of the old characters, or actors for that matter. I actually remember coming to g0re and writing a scathing review on it.

Weird.

"This feature-length experience has been directed and edited by Lynch exclusively for this release. Capping off more than 30 deleted/alternate scenes is an epilogue providing a fascinating glimpse beyond the cliffhanger finale of the TV series." So we're not just getting scenes to jump around between on a menu screen, Lynch has personally cut them together for an hour and a half of time in Twin Peaks that nobody's ever seen before. *drool*

Damn. I remember the first time I ever visited mikedunn.com and read about "the fight for the deleted scenes". When was this? 1996, maybe? So almost 20 years. Then I started my own TP website, and added the banner to it as well... And now it's here. Feels sort of weird.
