We're so proud. ;)

I think my copy is ... around here somewhere.
This is a snakeskin jacket. And for me it's a symbol of my individuality and my belief in personal freedom.

Can't believe I know someone who's TOP FIVE AT CANNES!

Btw - was FWWM just heavily booed or did it have a walkout as well back in the day? Can't remember now.

No, FWWM was not booed nor had a walk out at Cannes. In fact it was pretty well received, according to Robert Engeles.

Oh, ok. I had this memory of it being poorly received but thank god people had good taste even back in the early 90's.

I think that was a myth that was going around. Seems like if people walk out of your film at Cannes it's almost a badge of honor.

Mr. Sugarape hasn't done his research. Anglophone critics were hostile, but the film was generally well received in France (on the cover of Le Monde, Liberation and Positif) and also in Latin America. South Korea's top critic had it in his best of all time list at one point. As low budget indie debuts by 24-year-old directing/producing teams go, it could have been worse.

The guy was only talking about the reaction of Cannes screenings in his article, not in general. It appears he took the whole thing from a single line in a Variety article about the film. Still, true or not, there's worse company to be lumped in with than Cronenberg and von Trier. I'd embrace it.
