This looks like almost the exact same film as The Day After Tomorrow. Main character sends their kid off to be on their own for the first time. Natural disaster hits. Main character has to fight their way in to rescue their kid. Lots of landmarks crumble. Major city gets destroyed. Wash, rinse, repeat.
