News from St. Louis:
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin dropped the ceremonial first puck at an NHL game for the second time this month.

The Alaska governor and self-described “hockey mom” got more cheers than boos Friday night before the St. Louis Blues hosted the Los Angeles Kings.

She was joined on the ice by her husband, Todd, and her two youngest daughters, both wearing Blues jerseys with the number “08.” Palin dropped the puck for the captains of the two teams, St. Louis’ Keith Tkachuk and the Kings’ Dustin Brown.

Palin then watched the game from a luxury box with Blues principal owner Dave Checketts, waving to the crowd and even reaching over the railing to shake a few hands.

The reception at the Scottrade Center was in contrast to Palin’s Oct. 11 appearance before a game in Philadelphia, where she received a louder mix of boos.

whoever wrote that is a fucking dolt. THEY ARE NOT THE CAPTAINS, douchebag - they were the opening centers.

either way, people are only cheering because of the philly thing. they're trying to convince themselves that philly is cursed because they booed, not because of palin. what else can fans do that have had her shoved down their throats (rather than the reverse, which i'm pretty sure most of them would enjoy)?

That's the AP for you...

I remember seeing a wire photo about 7-8 years ago of some Philly fans beating the shit out of a poor schmo whose only crime was wearing a Devils jersey on their side of the arena. Tough town.

Early voted this morning for Obama. Texas goes red (which it will) it's not my fault. I felt sorry for the poor Obama supports who had a table set up outside the polling place. They looked cold and lonely.

Heh, yeah, ask John McCain about the Palin curse, he's with ya.

Didn't your starting goalie get knocked out by tripping over her red carpet or some such nonsense?

Good for you, Mike, I'm on my way today. Saw Hillary speak on Friday in a crowd of about 1,000, which was kind of cool but kind of pointless at the same time. My daughter was excited to see her, though.

Girlfriend and I are getting up early tomorrow to stand in line for early voting. Clinton and his people have been stumping across the state this past weekend for Obama, but Arkansas is still expected to go for McCain. :(

Al Qaeda-Linked Web Site Backs McCain for President
Terror group supporters seek 'big operation' against U.S. to 'push Americans deliberately to vote for McCain'

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

WASHINGTON -- Al Qaeda supporters suggested in a Web site message this week they would welcome a pre-election terror attack on the U.S. as a way to usher in a McCain presidency.

The message, posted Monday on the password-protected al-Hesbah Web site, said if Al Qaeda wants to exhaust the United States militarily and economically, "impetuous" Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain is the better choice because he is more likely to continue the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"This requires presence of an impetuous American leader such as McCain, who pledged to continue the war till the last American soldier," the message said. "Then, Al Qaeda will have to support McCain in the coming elections so that he continues the failing march of his predecessor, Bush."

SITE Intelligence Group, based in Bethesda, Maryland, monitors the Web site and translated the message.

"If Al Qaeda carries out a big operation against American interests," the message said, "this act will be support of McCain because it will push the Americans deliberately to vote for McCain so that he takes revenge for them against Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda then will succeed in exhausting America till its last year in it."

Mark Salter, a senior McCain adviser, said he had heard about the Web site chatter but had no immediate comment.

The message is credited to a frequent and apparently respected contributor named Muhammad Haafid. However, Haafid is not believed to have a direct affiliation with Al Qaeda plans or knowledge of its operations, according to SITE.

SITE senior analyst Adam Raisman said this message caught SITE's attention because there has been little other chatter on the forums about the U.S. election.

SITE was struck by the message's detailed analysis -- and apparent jubilation -- about American financial woes.

"What we try to do is get the pulse of the jihadist community," Raisman said. "And it's about the financial crisis."

Al Qaeda leader Usama bin Laden issued a videotape just four days before the 2004 U.S. presidential election directly addressing the American people.

Apparently al-Qaida has had little to say about Obama, according to those who monitor terrorists' chatter.

THR wrote:John McCain to appear on 'SNL'
Presidential candidate's last cameo was in May

NEW YORK -- John McCain's final weekend of the campaign will include a stop on "Saturday Night Live," where his pick of Sarah Palin has been mercilessly satirized.

McCain campaign aides said Friday he would appear on the show. No further details were immediately available. However, it will be interesting to see how McCain works with the scheduled guest host, noted Democrat and actor Ben Affleck. David Cook is the musical guest.

It's not McCain's first time on the show. He hosted "SNL" in 2002 and, among other things, sang a medley of Barbra Streisand's songs. Streisand is a well-known Hollywood liberal.

It's not the GOP ticket's first time on the show this year. Earlier in the month, Palin appeared in the cold open with executive producer Lorne Michaels and "30 Rock" actor Alec Baldwin, and during "Weekend Update" with Amy Poehler and Seth Myers. And, of course, Tina Fey has reprised her satire of the vice presidential candidate three times on "SNL."

But it will be hard to match Palin's ratings, as McCain has struggled to do in the past. The Palin "SNL" episode was the most watched since 1994.

Barack Obama was going to be on the season opener of "SNL" but canceled. He was on the show the season before.

Monday, McCain and Obama will be interviewed by ESPN's Chris Berman for a segment on "Monday Night Football."
here's my prediction - this is going to be brutally painful to watch. ugh.

During the prank call, Sarah Palin is asked about hunting, foreign poilcy, and “Sarkozy” actually tells her that he watched the Naylin’ Paylin' porn video...

How does this assclown get any toilets unclogged when he's spending his work hours on Fox News and prancing around at McCain rallies?

And I love Cheney endorsing McCain: "The right leader for this moment in history is... Senator John McCain... *HACK, COUGH COUGH GASSSSP*...." [booger swipe]
